Looking for things to do in Amarillo at night? Maybe you are in this Texas town looking for sightseeing after work, or maybe you’re stopping in Amarillo on your way to a new destination. If you’ve got an evening in Amarillo, there are still some pretty interesting places to see after 5:00 pm.
If in Amarillo, visit Cadillac Ranch and spray paint cars in the middle of the field!
How to Get to Amarillo
Even if you’re in North Texas, Amarillo might still be a five hour drive away. Most people will fly into Rick Husband Amarillo International Airport (AMA).
While out-of-towners might expect to see more horses, people in Amarillo will get around by car. Your best bet is to rent a car; most parking will be free.
Where to Eat in Amarillo
Coyote Bluff Cafe // Featured on the first episode of Man vs Food, try a burger or grab a beer from the beer tub in the middle of the restaurant. Make sure to bring cash, they don’t accept cards!
The Big Texan // Combo restaurant/gift shop/motel with lots of comfort food options. Finish a 72 oz steak and all its sides within the hour, and your meal is free.
Torchy’s Tacos // If you’re not from Texas, you have to visit this Texas chain. My favorite is the Trailer Park taco.
Public House // If you’re looking for Amarillo fine dining, Public House is a great place to take your clients for comfort food.
Metropolitan – A Speakeasy // Enjoy a drink or some classic American food at this high-end Amarillo restaurant.
What to Do in Amarillo
Cadillac Ranch // A bunch of cars sticking out of the ground in the middle of a field, bring some spray paint and paint some cars.
Tascosa Drive-in Theater // For $8 a person, watch two movies back to back.
The Texas Show // Drive out 30 mins to Canyon, TX for an outdoor musical put on at the bottom of Palo Duro Canyon. Grab a plate of BBQ for $16 before the show.
Wonderland Amusement Park // If your team is adventurous for roller coasters and miniature golf, the amusement park is open as late as 8 or 9:00 pm.
Helium Monument // Built in 1968 for 100 years since the discovery of helium, this monument and time capsule can be found outside the Amarillo Discovery Gardens.
