Zurich is the largest city in Switzerland (but not the capital, that’s Bern) and is a cosmopolitan metropolis. It’s a beautiful mix of modern and traditional blessed with spectacular natural beauty in the form of a river, a lake and lovely mountains! What more can you ask for from a city?!
Stroll by the lake front and watch the swans swim by. It’s an incredibly relaxing and peaceful thing to do, especially after a tiring a day in office!
How to Get to Zurich
By flight: Zurich has a large international airport, very well connected to most places in the world. The airport is just 10 minutes away from the city centre and is very well served by trains and buses.
The train station is located right at the airport and you can buy tickets from the multiple kiosks available at the station. You can pay either by card or by cash (including Euro). The trains from the airport bring you to the main train station (Zurich HB) which is located in the heart of the city. Cannot get more convenient than this!
By train: Zurich has a large train station very well connected to a lot of places in Europe, including direct trains to Paris, Milan etc.
Switzerland, including Zurich has excellent public transportation – extremely efficient and impeccably clean. You cannot walk for more than 10 minutes without encountering a train/ tram or bus stop. I absolutely recommend making use of the public transportation system and forget about taxis/Ubers.
